Balance Health Nottingham

Balance Health Nottingham is a pioneering integrated health and fitness facility located in Edwalton, just outside Nottingham, and is one of the first in the UK to seamlessly integrate all of this under one roof.

Opened in March 2026, the centre offers a holistic approach to wellness that bridges the gap between fitness and private healthcare. The ground floor features a state-of-the-art smart gym powered by EGYM and Pulse Fitness technology, plus dedicated Reformer and wellness studios, an open MRI scanner and on-site coffee shop.

Upstairs offers a private medical centre with specialist Consultants from a variety of specialties including orthopaedics, urology, gynaecology, cosmetics, private GP and 2 minor surgical theatres for daycase procedures. This integrated model allows members to move between injury consultation and diagnostics to expert-led rehabilitation, all within a single high-end facility.

Brief

As a premium facility, Balance Health Nottingham required a changing room solution that matched the high-spec aesthetic of the entire building. The primary goal was to create a “premium feel” that balanced luxury with functionality, ensuring that the gym’s lockers and changing areas were in keeping with the facility’s upscale identity.

Dan Jones, Gym Design Consultant for Balance Health Nottingham, sought a partner who could provide a full-service solution including lockers, benches, vanity units and shower cubicles. It was essential to work with a team that understood user flow and could sit down to design layouts that maintained a seamless, high-end experience for every member.

"Safe Space were fantastic to work with from start to finish. It was that approach where we could sit down and work on things rather than just be sold something. They’re not just selling locker doors, they understand the bigger picture and that’s who I like to work with, people that you can work with to create the best solution."
