Energym West Ealing

Energym are dedicated to redefining what it means to work out, breaking away from the mainstream to create fully-immersive, multi-sensory gym environments that empower and motivate their members. The success of their first site in New Malden, which opened in July 2020, has recently led them to open their second site in West Ealing.

Brief

Energym tasked Safe Space Lockers with developing a range of lockers that were both stylish, robust and set the scene within their changing room space. They were looking for something different to the normal changing room environment, with mood lighting that plays on angles and helps people feel good about themselves. They also set a strict design brief to avoid reflective gloss finishes across the majority of surfaces.

Solution

Lockers finished in Egger U732 Dust Grey Perfect Sense Matt with padlock fixings
Benches made from GRP (glass reinforced plastic) and finished in RAL 6038 Luminous Green
Benches also use a specialist, super-strength, sustainable resin made from recycled plastic bottles
Lime green LED lighting for male facilities and hot pink for female facilities

"We found Safe Space Lockers through searching and speaking with a number of individuals within the fitness industry who had highly recommended their services. We really loved the matt finish across the range of lockers and shower cubicles to fall in line with our lighting design as well and ensure that a reflective gloss finish was avoided across the majority of the surfaces at all costs. The final touches with regards to our lockers' locking latches and custom badges added that final lasting touch that sets the scene when walking into our changing space. There were never any issues dealing with Safe Space and Dom and the team have always been there throughout the process."
